The story

A canceled wedding.
A town with opinions.
A summer to remember.

Avery Paige came to Belleweather Beach to deliver a perfect wedding. She has a demanding client, a carefully organized binder, and a partnership back in Atlanta riding on how well it all goes.

Then the groom makes an announcement the bride wasn’t expecting, and the wedding comes apart before the chairs are even set out.

With the food paid for and the band booked, Belleweather sees no reason to waste a perfectly good party. Avery finds herself managing an event nobody planned, a mother of the bride who hasn’t given up, and an increasingly distracting best man named Sam.

Meanwhile, the bride’s grandmother has returned to a place she left sixty years ago. At the pier, an old acquaintance is still running the bait shop. Neither of them has forgotten the summer of 1966. They just remember its ending very differently.

In a town where everyone has an opinion and very few people can keep a secret, some unfinished business is about to become everybody’s business.

Back to Belleweather

White sand.
Deep porches.
Very little privacy.

There’s coffee on the square, a bait shop at the pier, and somebody who remembers what happened before you were born.

Visitors arrive with their own plans. The longtime residents are happy to help—whether anyone asked them to or not.

Return to the coastal town of Hollywood Can Wait, with familiar faces, new arrivals, and another story that can be enjoyed on its own.

One summer. Sixty years of silence.

A ring in a tackle box.
A letter. A story left unfinished.

Some questions don’t disappear just because you stop asking them.

The people

Everyone came
for a wedding.
Everyone brought a story.

A planner with something to prove. A best man with time to spare. Two people who thought their chance had passed.

And a town full of neighbors who would hate to miss any of it.

The planner

Avery Paige

She can manage a difficult mother of the bride, a missing vendor, and a minute-by-minute schedule. What happens when the wedding itself falls apart is another matter.

The best man

Sam Kincaid

A history teacher, a devoted older brother, and unexpectedly good company. He came to help Davis get married. He keeps finding reasons to help Avery.

The grandmother

Jo Ashford

Returning to Belleweather brings back a summer she has kept to herself for sixty years—and a man she never expected to see again.

The man at the pier

Walt Hennessey

He runs the bait shop, makes terrible coffee, and has a long memory. Some things have stayed with him longer than anyone knows.
